2027 Airstream Lineup
What's New in South Carolina's 2027 Airstream Lineup
New floor plans and comfort upgrades built for real Midlands seasons, already on the lot in Lexington.
Three new floor plans. A décor overhaul for Flying Cloud. Faster water heaters and smarter climate control impacting most of what's left in the catalog. That's the shape of Airstream's 2027 changes, and Airstream of South Carolina, right off I-20 in Lexington, already has a share of it.
The Midlands experience genuine seasonal swings, with humid summers and cold snaps in winter. Airstream's 2027 changes to its water systems and climate control aren't just spec-sheet fine print here. They can make long-term camping comfortable.
What follows is a model-by-model breakdown of what changed and how it applies to camping around Lexington specifically, including Lake Murray, Congaree National Park, and Sumter National Forest.
The New World Traveler 17RB Lands at Airstream of South Carolina
Bigger isn't always better. The 17RB is proof. This new floor plan for 2027 is built as a lighter, shorter version of the 22RB rather than a replacement for it. It's aimed at people who'd rather tow something simple than manage something large.
The interior carries the 22RB's bright white color scheme, with a choice of two cushion options. To keep weight down, the panoramic and door windows are gone in favor of dual-pane acrylic, and the climate system moved from the roof to under the bench. A rearview camera and bedding kit come standard. If you're planning to camp somewhere without hookups, solar, lithium power, and a microwave also come in handy.
If you're seeking your first Airstream or a smaller tow vehicle than most models require, both point toward the same answer within the 2027 lineup: the 17RB.
Trade Wind 27FB: Built for Off-Grid Trips Near Lexington
The Trade Wind 27FB pairs its front-bedroom layout, which sleeps five, with an 18.5-kWh system developed alongside Harbinger, the largest capacity Airstream has ever built into a travel trailer. Up to 600 watts of solar and an inverter capable of running two air conditioners without shore power come with the equation as well. Airstream showed the floor plan publicly for the first time at the Florida RV SuperShow in January 2026.
Out past Congaree, into Sumter National Forest where hookups are scarce, is where that battery capacity gets tested the most. The 27FB also inherits Trade Wind's recirculating water heater, meaning hot water reaches the tap immediately instead of running cold down the drain first.
In a cold environment, waiting for a water heater to catch up means standing around getting even colder. South Carolina's humidity flips that problem: nobody's worried about the cold. They're hot and sweaty after a hike and just want to rinse off fast instead of waiting around for the water to warm up. The recirculating water heater makes that possible.
Rangeline 21PL: A New Touring Coach at Airstream of South Carolina
Rangeline gets a second floor plan for 2027, the 21PL. One of its standout features is its rear Smartbench. Living up to its name, the bench rides on an L-track floor system that shifts between seating, a full lounge, or an empty cargo bay. You can switch from a weekend at Lake Murray one week and then hauling gear for something bigger the next.
The powered platform bed sleeps four people and lowers over the reconfigured lower bench. The 21PL and 21PS alike get two new colors this year, Lunar Gray and Onyx Black. The coach runs entirely on gasoline, generator included, so there's no propane tank to manage separately from the Ram ProMaster's own fuel supply.
Flying Cloud Gets a New Look in Lexington
Airstream unveiled two updates for the Flying Cloud in 2027. One is all about the décor. Willow Green and Canvas Cream bring a calming, inviting atmosphere inside your trailer with their light wood-grain laminate and solid-color cabinet fronts.
Beyond that, Airstream also equipped the Flying Cloud with a recirculating water heater, just like the one included with the Trade Wind. After you finish a vigorous hike back from Congaree, you won't have to wait for hot water. It will be ready to go.
International Gets a Faster Water Heater in South Carolina
International doesn't change its floor plans, but it does have a noteworthy water heater upgrade. This is the same recirculating system seen in the Flying Cloud, which means a faster tap and less wasted propane.
A second change lands here too: new marker lights. This is all part of the refined-look update rolling out across Airstream's traditional aluminum trailers this year.
Atlas Adds More Room at Airstream of South Carolina
The Atlas 25MS has a tow rating of up to 5,000 pounds. Plus, the 25MS is backed by a heavier-duty hitch that can handle a boat trip to Lake Murray and other such adventures. Every Atlas model also gets larger pedestal tables that you can use for extra working or dining space.
The 25RT adds a belted jump seat behind the driver. The interesting part of this addition is that it can accommodate three riders now. That said, there is still only sleeping space for two, so keep that in mind when planning your next outing.
Atlas also gets a new color scheme this year. Stonehaven replaces Modern Greige across the whole line, and the 25RT alone now offers four total options. These options are worth comparing side by side at Airstream of South Carolina with a travel trailer before deciding what fits your next trip.
Interstate 24GT Gets a Redesigned Door and Step in Lexington
Getting in and out of the Interstate 24GT is different this year, and better. A new pleated pass-through screen door swaps in for the old design. Said door is four inches wider, with the long brush seal gone entirely. The material resists pet damage and holds up better than before.
The stepwell itself grew too. It's approximately two inches wider, with a durable kickplate replacing the old wood closeout. Further, the stepwell has factory Mercedes lighting. You can now safely and easily get in and out of your coach after dark.
Basecamp's Heat Pump Is Built for Midlands Winters
Cooling and heating now come from the same unit on the Airstream Basecamp thanks to its new heat pump. This system replaces the older AC setup and is built to run efficiently. That said, it's worth discussing precisely where that efficiency shows up since it's mostly on the heating side.
A compressor-driven air conditioner still needs power to run, heat pump or not, plugged in or off-grid. The greatest advantage of a heat pump is on a cold night, when the system reverses and heats the cabin with electricity instead of propane. In the Midlands, where winter shows up with genuine cold snaps between long stretches of mild weather, that stretches your propane supply and extends how late into fall you'll want to camp.
More Updates Across the 2027 Airstream Lineup in South Carolina
Globetrotter, Caravel, Classic, and Bambi all get new marker lights as part of a more refined look layered onto shapes that don't otherwise change. Select models also add wireless charging built into the nightstand.
On the other side of the lineup, Airstream has retired the Basecamp 16 as of June 2026. This was a deliberate move to focus more of its resources on newer floor plans and technology.
